Below is a quick easy guide to a successful apartment move:
There are countless factors that go into a successful efficient apartment move. Here are a couple tips that will not only cut down on damage, but cut down on costs from your mover as well.

Step 1: Parking
Parking outside an apartment can be very difficult, especially with a 26? truck involved. Always scope the parking situation out before the movers arrive to save time and money. Often times apartments will have loading areas designated for heavy loading. Look for the reservation schedule and coordinate it with the complex. If there is no loading zone, park your car in the most advantageous spot when it is open and hold it until the movers arrive. This can seriously add to the convenience of the move. Sometimes you can even place cones to block off a desired parking spot.
Step 2: Elevators
Many apartment complexes have freight elevators that need to be reserved in advance. Also, make sure the elevator is large enough for your largest item. Any use of the elevator will cut down on time and be safer as opposed to 3-4 flights of stairs. If there is only 1 flight of stairs involved sometimes it is faster just to use them as opposed to the elevator.
Step 3: Hallways/access points
Any successful apartment move starts with a good plan of action with different door entry points and hallways. Choose the most efficient route offered by the complex and make sure both the hallways and doorways are large enough for your bulkiest item. If doors need to be removed, remove them in advance to save time with the movers.
Step 4: Experienced apartment movers
An apartment move can contain a lot of stairs and tricky obstacles before the loading point. Make sure the movers you hire are exceptionally experienced in apartment moves. Also, make sure the movers have their “stair legs” as this can be the difference in an apartment move taking 3 hours versus 6 hours.
